WHAT YOU HEAR WHEN YOU CALL

The pre-recorded voice and the AI assistant are not the same thing.

When you call (703) 997-0026, the first voice you hear is our phone menu — a recording that has been there for years. It routes your call. The AI assistant is the conversational part that happens after, and it is a completely different kind of system.

The Legacy System

IVR / Phone Menu

  • Plays a fixed recording. No decisions, no listening.
  • Routes you to scheduling, dispatch, or the right team.
  • Same prompts every time, in the same order.
  • Has been part of our phone system for years.
  • Cannot look anything up in our calendar or address book.

Live & Active

Conversational Voice

The AI Assistant

  • Listens to what you actually say and decides what to do next.
  • Handles the request itself — books the job, reschedules, answers, or escalates.
  • Different every time, because it is actually a conversation.
  • Newer. Built on a large language model and live tool integrations.
  • Looks up real-time data — calendar, addresses, drive times — before it answers.

Both will keep doing what they do. The pre-recorded menu still routes calls at the front of the system. The AI assistant is what handles the actual conversation once you are connected.

WHAT A CONVERSATION SOUNDS LIKE

Here is what the back-and-forth actually looks like.

These are illustrative, not scripts. Real conversations vary — that is the point. The italicized lines are the brief pauses you will hear while the assistant looks something up.

Booking a service

A homeowner calls about a tripping breaker and ends up with a real arrival window on the calendar.

Hi, my breaker keeps tripping every time the microwave runs.
YOU
AJLE
Sorry to hear that — sounds like an overloaded circuit or a breaker that is wearing out. What city are you in?
Burke. The address is 8642 Sample Street.
YOU
validating your address on Google Maps and pulling up the live calendar…
AJLE
Got it — 8642 Sample Street in Burke. I can fit you in Thursday with a 1pm-to-5pm arrival window, or Friday with an 8am-to-noon window. Either work?
Thursday afternoon works.
YOU
AJLE
Booked. You will get a text confirmation in a minute. We will call you about 30 minutes before we head over.

Under the hoodThe assistant validated the address, pulled up the live calendar, checked drive times against our other Thursday jobs, and booked an arrival window we can actually hit.

Rescheduling an existing appointment

A customer needs to move an appointment and the AI handles the lookup, the cancel, and the rebook on one call.

I have an appointment Tuesday morning but something came up. Can I move it to Friday?
YOU
looking up your existing booking…
AJLE
Found it — your Tuesday 8am-to-noon panel inspection at the Sample Street address. Let me see what we have Friday.
checking Friday availability and drive times…
AJLE
Friday I can offer you 8am-to-noon or noon-to-4pm. Which is easier?
The afternoon — noon to four.
YOU
AJLE
Done. Your Friday arrival window is noon to 4pm. I have cancelled the Tuesday slot and you will get an updated confirmation by text.

Under the hoodThe assistant looked up the existing booking, freed the original slot, checked Friday's live availability against our other jobs, and confirmed the new window — all on the same call.

Asking for a person

When you ask for a human, the assistant checks live agent availability and picks the right path. Often the AI is who answered because nobody was free in the first place.

I have a question about a permit issue — can I talk to an actual person?
YOU
AJLE
Of course. Let me see who is on right now.
checking live agent availability…

If a live agent is signed in and available

AJLE
We have a dispatcher on the line. Connecting you now — stay on, I will patch you through.

If no agent is available (after hours, all lines busy, weekends)

AJLE
Looks like nobody is on the desk this minute. I can take a detailed message and get it to the team — what is the permit question about?
Need to know if my panel upgrade needs a county permit or just county-and-utility.
YOU
sending your message through to the team and flagging it for the next available person…
AJLE
Got it. Your message is in our system and we will get back to you by 9am tomorrow at the latest. Anything else?

Under the hoodWhen you ask for a person, the assistant checks who is signed in first. If someone is available, you get transferred. If not, your message is pushed into multiple systems so it reaches the team — that is often why the assistant is who answered in the first place.

TIPS

Get the most out of it.

A few small habits make every conversation faster and more accurate.

  1. 1

Use full sentences. Tell it what you actually need.

  2. 2

Be specific. "Flickering light in my kitchen Tuesday morning" beats "electrician please."

  3. 3

Share your zip code or address up front. It saves a step.

  4. 4

If anything is off, ask for a human and we will take it from there.

HOW IT ACTUALLY WORKS

A real conversation, with real lookups in the background.

A lot of voice systems are pre-recorded prompts and a phone tree. This one is built differently — here is what is happening on the other end of the call.

It is a large language model.

The same kind of system as ChatGPT, trained for spoken conversation and given knowledge of our business. It writes its own responses in the moment. Not a script. Not a decision tree.

The brief pauses are it working.

When you hear a half-second of quiet during the conversation, that is the assistant doing a lookup. Faster than putting a human on hold to check, and the answer comes from the same systems our dispatchers use.

It makes tool calls.

A “tool call” is the assistant pausing to look something up before it answers. The three it uses most:

Google Maps

Confirms the spelling of your address and calculates how long it takes us to drive there from the other jobs we have that day. That is how we honor a 4-hour arrival window without overbooking.

Our live scheduling system

Reads the actual open slots on the calendar — the same calendar our dispatchers use — so the appointment it offers is one we can actually fulfill. Not a guess, not a callback queue.

Pricing and service info

Looks up flat-rate ranges, what is included in each service, and which technician specializes in what kind of work.

It only books real, available slots.

Because it is reading the live calendar — not guessing — the arrival window it confirms with you is the window we will actually be on the road for.

What it has, and what it doesn't, about you.

What it has

  • Our services, flat-rate pricing, and what is included.
  • Real-time calendar availability and crew capacity.
  • Our team members and who specializes in what.
  • Common electrical issues homeowners in the DMV see.

What it doesn't

  • Your personal info, unless you choose to share it.
  • Your previous calls with us, unless you mention them.
  • Anything outside of electrical work and our business.

You can ask for a human at any time and we will route you to one. The assistant is not a wall.

Try it now.

Tap the button, allow your mic, and just start talking. No phone call, no commitment.

FAQ

Questions about the assistant.

Is this really AI?
Yes. It is a large language model with knowledge of our business, paired with a real-time voice model from ElevenLabs. It is not a recorded script and it is not a person.
How is this different from the recording I hear when I call?
The voice you hear first when you dial us is our phone menu — a pre-recorded system that has routed calls for years. It is not the AI. The AI assistant is the conversational part that happens after, and it is a completely different kind of system: a live large language model that listens, looks things up in real time, and books actual appointments.
Why does it pause sometimes when we are talking?
Those pauses are the assistant looking something up — your address on Google Maps, our live calendar, or how long it takes us to drive between jobs. It is the same kind of pause a human dispatcher would take while they check a system before giving you an answer.
Can I talk to a real person?
Always. Tell the assistant you want a human and it will route you to a member of our team during business hours, or arrange a callback after hours.
Does it record my call?
Calls and chats may be recorded for quality and training so we can keep improving the assistant. A real human reviews flagged conversations. We never sell your information.
What if it gets the scheduling wrong?
Every booking the assistant makes is reviewed by a human within a few hours. If anything looks off, you will get a text from us to confirm or correct it before the work is done.
Will it handle emergencies?
Yes. If you mention sparking, smoke, burning smell, or no power, the assistant immediately escalates the call to a human and we treat it as urgent.
Is my information secure?
We follow industry-standard data handling practices and only collect what we need to schedule and complete your job. You can ask the assistant exactly what it has on file at any time.
