Why schedule an electrical inspection?
An electrical inspection is most useful when its purpose and access limits are defined before the visit. AJ Long Electric can evaluate visible and accessible service equipment, panels, grounding and bonding components, representative devices, safety-protection functions, exposed wiring, and conditions related to a homeowner's specific concern. Panels are opened only when conditions permit safe access. Thermal imaging may be used as a supplemental snapshot when appropriate, but it does not see through walls or prove the condition of concealed wiring. The written report distinguishes observed conditions, items that warrant prompt attention, recommendations for further evaluation, and areas that were inaccessible or outside scope. It is an electrical condition report for the homeowner, not a warranty, code-compliance certificate, appraisal, or guarantee that a lender, insurer, buyer, seller, or authority will accept the findings.

What does a residential electrical inspection include?

Does the inspection cover wiring behind walls?
No. The report describes visible and accessible conditions. Concealed wiring, inaccessible junctions, energized components that cannot be safely examined, and areas blocked by finishes, storage, insulation, or property conditions are identified as limitations.
Is thermal imaging included?
Thermal imaging may be used when appropriate to the scope, equipment state, load, access, and safety conditions. It is a supplemental temperature snapshot, not an X-ray and not proof that concealed wiring is defect-free.
Will the report certify that the home meets current code?
No. Existing homes contain work from different code eras, and a condition inspection is not an authority inspection or blanket compliance certificate. The report documents observed conditions and may recommend further evaluation or corrective work.
Will a lender or insurer accept the report?
The lender, insurer, buyer, seller, authority, or other reviewer controls its own form and acceptance requirements. Confirm those requirements before scheduling. AJ Long Electric can provide factual findings within the agreed scope but cannot promise coverage, approval, or acceptance.
Can AJ Long Electric repair findings?
A separate repair proposal can be prepared for documented items after the homeowner reviews the report. Additional access may reveal conditions that were not visible during the inspection.
