Electrician-led solar company in Falls Church

Solar Panel Installation in Falls Church, VA

Falls Church is two jurisdictions with one name. The independent City of Falls Church issues its own permits, and the much larger Falls Church mailing area in Fairfax County uses the county. Both sides are full of teardown new builds with 200A, EV-ready panels. AJ Long Electric installs the array, the panel, the battery, and the EV charger as one job, with a master electrician on site.

A master electrician is on site for every solar project. $2.40–$2.85/W installed, cash. We file with the City of Falls Church or Fairfax County, whichever your parcel is in, and file the Dominion interconnection for you.

Cost

What solar costs in Falls Church

A typical 8 to 12 kW rooftop system installs for $19,000–$34,000 cash, which is $2.40–$2.85/W. These are cash installed prices for modules, racking, inverter, and interconnection labor. The proposal identifies the equipment and installation scope handled by AJ Long Electric.

A Falls Church new build prices inside the published band with no panel line, because the 200A, EV-ready panel is already there. A 1950s rambler in Pimmit Hills or Baileys Crossroads usually needs the heavy-up first at $3,500–$7,500. Inside the city limits the city permit fee is its own line.

Installed prices by system size
System size	Typical annual production	Installed price, cash
8 kW	About 10,000 kWh	$19,200–$22,800
10 kW	About 12,500 kWh	$24,000–$28,500
12 kW	About 15,000 kWh	$28,800–$34,200

Production assumes about 1,250 kWh per kW per year for a typical Northern Virginia roof. Your bill and your roof set the real number.

Why an electrician

Why Falls Church homeowners choose an electrician for solar

A Falls Church teardown is a modern electrical system, and the solar company still subcontracts the part that touches it. We are the electrical contractor, so the backfed breaker, the disconnect, and the EV circuit are handled by AJ Long Electric with a master electrician on site.

We have filed with City of Falls Church Development Services and with Fairfax County for decades, and we know which one your parcel is in before you do. The permit, the historic review where it applies, and the Dominion interconnection go in the right order.

The price is a cash installed number. Any city permit fee, the EV charger, and the battery are itemized on one proposal.

Solar makes sense in Falls Church when

Your Falls Church new build has 200A service and an EV-ready panel, so the array is the only electrical work on the proposal.
Your parcel is inside the City of Falls Church and you want the city permit and any historic review handled by a contractor who has filed there.
Your 1950s rambler in Pimmit Hills is on 100A service and the heavy-up belongs on the same proposal as the array.

What Falls Church homeowners say

Google reviews from EV charger and panel jobs on both sides of the Falls Church city line. Solar reviews land here as installs finish.

AJ Long consistently performs great work. They were able to install the Tesla charger without having to cut any holes in the drywall in my basement. This was important for me since I had special drywall on my ceiling to soundproof noise between the floors. The work was done very cleanly and professionally. Sai and Bo were great! Thanks guys.

Mike Zacharia, Google review

Installed a garage circuit panel, ran the cable through conduit, about a 50 ft run, Installed breakers, ran wire for three new outlets. Super clean, quality work. Sai and Andrew were great. Highly recommended.

Matthew Lemons, Google review

AJ Long recently installed an EV charger at my residence and they were fantastic! They kept me informed of when they would do the work and how long it would take. Their prices are competitive and fair - I highly recommend them!

Falls Church solar questions

Is my Falls Church house in the city or in Fairfax County?

Most Falls Church mailing addresses are in Fairfax County. The independent City of Falls Church is about two square miles around Broad Street and Washington Street; Pimmit Hills, Baileys Crossroads, West Falls Church, and Lake Barcroft are county. The parcel record settles it, and we check before we file, because the permit office, the fee, and the tax exemption all change with the answer.

Does the City of Falls Church waive the solar permit fee?

The fee waiver is a Fairfax County program for county-issued permits. Inside the City of Falls Church, Development Services issues the permit under the city's fee schedule, and we show it as its own line. A Falls Church address in the county gets the waiver and the county's five-year property tax exemption.

My Falls Church new build has an EV-ready 200A panel. What else does solar need?

Usually nothing at the panel. We confirm the busbar rating and the breaker slots on the site visit, add the backfed breaker and the disconnect, and the array is the only electrical line on the proposal. An EV charger on the same visit is a short run from a panel that was built for it.

Who is the utility in Falls Church?

Dominion Energy Virginia serves both the city and the county side of Falls Church. One-to-one net metering and customer-owned SRECs were kept by the State Corporation Commission on April 30, 2026, and we file the interconnection after the permit is issued.
